Herman Warren Norris, 82, of Prairieton passed away Sunday December 13, 2015 at 1:13 am in Springhill Village. He retired after 29 years as a watchman for Weston Paper. Herman was born February 1, 1933 in Terre Haute to Estel Norris and Mary (Parks) Norris. He is survived by daughters, Brenda Shake and husband Everett of Prairieton and Marty Norris-Sandberg of Prairieton; sons, Tim Norris of Terre Haute, Jerry Norris and wife Sharon of Terre Haute, Terry Norris and wife Jana of Terre Haute, and Rick Norris and wife Terri of Ft. Myers, FL; brothers, John Norris and Fred Kylander; grandchildren, Jonathan Norris, Teresa Dean, Dusty Norris, TJ Norris, Christie Jo Wright, Jared Norris, Bradley Sandberg, Tyler Sandberg, Tasha Baker, and Jordan Shake. 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Herman is preceded in death by his wife Wilberta (Fagg) Norris, who died November 4, 2013; his father Estel Norris, his mother and step-father, Mary and Oliver Kylander, sister, Doris Adkins, and brother, Jim Norris. Herman was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War and he enjoyed watching NASCAR and baseball on the television and he loved his dog Buddy. As per Herman's request, Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday December 15, 2015 at 11:00 am in New Harmony Cemetery with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. The Vigo County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. DeBaun Funeral Home, 85 E. Springhill Dr. is in charge of arrangements.
