Herbert G. Hatheway, Sr., 70, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 4:50 am in his residence. He was a machinist/mechanical engineer for the Merom Generating Station. Herbert was born September 1, 1944 in Clinton, IN to Elnathan P. Hatheway and Elsie M. (Piltz) Hatheway. He is survived by his wife Donna J. (Spears) Hatheway; a daughter, Holly Hatheway of Berkeley, CA; a son Herbert G. Hatheway, Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Indianapolis; step-daughters, Mary Sanders and her husband Thomas of Terre Haute, Jennifer Lesniak of Indianapolis, and Machaele Sarver of Terre Haute; a step-son, Paul Sarver of Wheatland, IN; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Elsie Martha Scott and brothers, Eugene P. Hatheway, Glen Hatheway, and Jerry Hatheway. Herbert was a veteran of the US Navy. Private burial is scheduled in Woodlawn Cemetery with a memorial service scheduled for later date. DeBaun Funeral Homes, 85 E. Springhill Dr. is in charge of arrangements.
