(Stevens) Hooley
October 6, 1928 – July 8, 2021
Helen C. Hooley, 92, of Terre Haute passed away July 8, 2021 peacefully at her home. She was born in Sullivan county on October 6, 1928, the eldest child of Wilbur D. Stevens and Beulah A. Riggs Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rosanna Rooksberry, Dorothy Coleen Watts, Reah Lininger, and her brother Wilbur Stevens. She is survived by her husband, Carl Hooley; one brother Duanne Stevens. She is also survived by her sons Danny (Linda) Morin, Donnie (Belinda) Morin, and daughter Deanne (Brian) Tolbert. Helen's passion was nursing, working at St. Anthony's Hospital, Regional Hospital, and Union Hospital where she retired in June of 2004. Her other passion was music, especially gospel music. She served as a pianist at Sugar Creek Baptist Church in West Terre Haute where she and husband Carl are members. She also loved animals and always made sure her animals were fed before we were. Visitation will be Tuesday July 13, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastors Larry Snyder and Tom Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Farmersburg West Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers that family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association (envelopes will be available at the funeral home).
