Helen Emily Cavins, 90, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday July 3, 2021 in her residence. She retired in 1991 from Chesty Foods. Helen was born June 20, 1931 in Prairie Creek to Lova and Emily (Wilson) Reed. She is survived by daughters, Peggy Reed (Steven) and Rena Lallow; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Cavins who died in 1974; daughter, Gina Cavins, son, Tomas "Tom" Cavins; sisters, Maretta Green and Ruth Halberstadt; brother, Lloyd Reed and great-granddaughter, Jillian. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ and enjoyed antiques, even owning her own shop at one time. Visitation will be Thursday July 8, 2021 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services on Friday July 9, 2021 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Ken Grubb officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Creek West Lawn Cemetery. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for the care they provided to their mother.
