Helen Piety, 97 of Terre Haute, passed away at 4:25 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 in Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan. She was born in Vigo County on May 17, 1918 to Cecil Bailey and Macy Hook Bailey. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Buel E. Piety on March 20, 2006, and her brother, Harold Bailey. She is survived by her children Dennis Piety (wife Sharon) and Karen May (husband Keith), as well as 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Helen was a member of Eastside Church of Christ, and enjoyed living on the farm and sewing. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM, with Dr. Larry Vandeventer officiating. Burial will follow in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 12 Noon - 2:00 PM at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions are made to Camp Wabashi, 3525 Harlan Dr., Terre Haute, IN 47802, in her memory.
