Helen Frances Draper, 89, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Springhill Village.

She was born December 4, 1926 in Terre Haute to Herman Schalburg and Lena McClure Schalburg.

Helen graduated from Wiley High School and Purdue University with a degree in chemistry. She worked as a chemist before becoming a teacher, and taught math at both Honey Creek and Sarah Scott Middle Schools. She was a member of United Methodist Temple Church. Her greatest joy was being at the beach.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Robert William Draper, who passed away in 2004.

Helen is survived by her son, Bruce Draper and his wife, Linda of Indianapolis; her sister, Betty Evans of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Lorita Yancy, whom she considered another daughter-in-law, several nieces and nephews; and her grand dog, Nigel.
