Helen Louise Bailey, 82, of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, passed away at Regional Hospital at 1:46 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014. Helen was born in Terre Haute on Dec. 3, 1931, to Herbert Church and Louise Neukom Church. She is survived by her son, Mickey E. Bailey (Lavana) of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN; daughters, Vickie Spurr (Donald) of Marshall, IN, and Debra Klein (Thomas) of Terre Haute; brothers, Bill Church and Jerry Church; sisters, Virginia Galloway, Mary Lou Furnas, Jessie Keegan, Betty Lincoln, and Susie Nowling,; grandchildren, Billy McCalister, Holly Nickless, Brian McCalister, James Edward McCalister, Tabatha Hollifield, Stephanie Spurr, Tiffany Roman, Crystal Jones, and Stephanie Allen; and great-grandchildren, Brittani Stevens, Brodey McCallister, Caprice McCalister, Jayben Bailey, Gaven Bailey, Benjamin Nickless, Paul Nickless, Dalton McCalister, Garrett McCalister, Carson McCalister, Brittany Hollifield, Shai Hollifield, Greysen Hollifield, Piper Hollifield, Sydni Bowling, Koltin Spurr, Spencer Roman, Celeste Jones, and Nate Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Max E. Bailey, who died Aug. 5, 1998; brother, Jack Church, and sister, Joan Stough. Helen was a member of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile, and was an avid bowler. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with Pastor Chris Wilbur officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. in DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel, 85 East Springhill Drive. As per the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Louise Bailey Memorial Account at First Financial Bank.
