Helen Maxine Tanner, 86 of Terre Haute, passed away at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Signature Health Care of Terre Haute.  She was born in Terre Haute on December 4, 1930 to Martin Atterson and Charity Everhart Atterson.  She retired from AP & S Clinic in the insurance claims department.  Helen was preceded in death by her husband Dallas Tanner, and her daughter, Margie Stewart.  She is survived by her son, V. Eugene Tanner, and three grandchildren;  Brooke Stewart, Kristin Stewart, Blake Stewart, and son-in-law Don Stewart.  Other survivors include her great grandchildren Gunnar Landreth, Landon Kovacik, and Myra Kovacik.   Her memberships include a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.  Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhilll Chapel on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Jeff Lee officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Friday at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
