Heather Nichole Beel, 38, of West Terre Haute passed away Friday May 23, 2014 in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a nurse at the St. Vincent's Surgery Center. Heather was born November 24, 1975 in Terre Haute to Gary Blackburn and Kaye Ann (Jones) Blackburn. She is survived by her parents of Terre Haute; her husband Kevin Beel, whom she married June 19, 2009; daughters, Haily Dean and Brittney Beel both of Terre Haute; sons, Jacob Dean and Brayden Beel both of Terre Haute; sisters, Amy Rosselli and her husband Johnny of Terre Haute and Rachel Jackson and her husband Brad of Evansville; paternal grandmother, Betty Blackburn; nieces and nephews, Sydney Seprodi, Carson Seprodi, Katelynn Jackson, and Allison Jackson and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Winifred and Norman Jones and paternal grandfather, Bob Blackburn. Heather was a graduate of Terre Haute North High School and ISU School of Nursing. She was a member of Spring Creek Community Church. She enjoyed dancing, running and riding on the motorcycle with her husband. In her ever caring and giving spirit, Heather donated her eyes so that 2 other people will be able to see. Visitation will be on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at Spring Creek Community Church, 800 E. Hawthorne, from 4:00 until 8:00 pm and again on Thursday May 29, 2014 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be in the church on Thursday May 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Sam Loomis and Todd Freberg officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Heather Beel Memorial Fund, c/o Terre Haute Savings Bank, Attn. Bobby Blackburn, 533 Ohio St., Terre Haute, IN 47807 (envelopes will be available at the church). DeBaun Funeral Home, Wabash Avenue Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
