Gloria J. Vandeventer, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:41 PM on Sunday, May 24, 2015 in her residence. She was born in Terre Haute on February 13, 1930 to Merrill Ferrand and Venia Price Ferrand. Gloria was retired from the Hamilton Center in Housekeeping Services and was a member of Christ Temple Church. She is survived by her husband George W. Vandeventer, Sr., and her children Paula J. Oldag (husband Tom), and George W. Vandeventer, Jr. (wife Mary). Also surviving is a brother, Paul Ferrand, and a sister, Bettie Lee. Other survivors include four grandchildren; Tom Vandeventer, Leslie Vandeventer, John Vandeventer, and Sarah Oldag, as well as two great grandchildren, Cameron Grubb and Rylee Zebrowski. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda S. Jergens in 1974, a brother Everett Ferrand, and a sister Maxine Bell. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Wabash Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave., on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Merrill Weir, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in DeBaun Wabash Chapel.
