Obituary

Glenna Berd Turner, 97, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday April 21, 2021 in her residence. She retired as the office manager/registrar for the Wabash Valley boy Scout Council. She was born February 28, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to Hubert William and Emma Louisa (Hutton) Townsend. Glenna is survived by a daughter, Gail O'Laughlin (Kevin); sons, Steve Turner (Maureen) and Daniel Turner (Deborah); grandchildren, Sarah, Janna, Patrick, Jacob, Jessica, Jonathan, Kiley, and Keaton; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Turner who died January 25, 1991, sisters, Lyla Davis and Merle Pollack and a brother, Hubert Townsend. Glenna was a member of St. Georges Episcopal Church in West Terre Haute and she was also a volunteer for Helping hands for many years. She was a wonderful housewife, mother, seamstress, and knitter. She was a great "GG" to the grandkids and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. Visitation will be Tuesday April 27, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Michelle Roos officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley (envelopes will be available at the funeral home).
