Gertrude "Trudy" Scarbrough, 91, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday March 7, 2020 in Meadows Manor East. She was retired from Indiana State University. She was born February 26, 1929 to Ralph and Daisy (Weir) Woodrum. Gertrude is survived by her son, Joseph Tharp; grandchildren, Amanda Tharp, Mitch Pal, and Melissa Adams; great-grandchild, Kira Aase; sister-in-law, Kayleen Woodrum and long-time close friend, Frank Booker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Scarbrough, who died October 13, 1987 and a daughter, Carolyn Crockett. Gertrude was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She collected stain glass lamps, loved going to auctions and was self-sufficient taking care of herself until three years ago. Visitation will be Thursday March 12, 2020 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 2:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery.
