Gerald L. "Jerry" Lindsay, 92, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday December 31, 2022 in Springhill Village. Jerry had been the owner of Lindsay Sunoco, Lindsay Marathon, and Lindsay Step Saver and was State of Indiana Highway Superintendent and Vigo County Road Commissioner. He was born July 11, 1930 in Terre Haute to Samuel E. and Blanche C. (Cundiff) Lindsay. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Violet B. (Armacost) Lindsay; sons, Stephen Lindsay and David Lindsay; brother, Bob Lindsay; granddaughters, Brooke Herman and Brianne Hernandez; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ellen Lindsay; sisters, Betty Garrett and Donna Ferguson; brothers, James Lindsay, Jack Lindsay, and Sam Lindsay. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW, and American Legion. He also sponsored many softball teams in Terre Haute and had been a driver for Turner Coach. Visitation will be Wednesday January 4, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Branham officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
