George Thomas "Tom" Asbury, 88, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at Springhill Village Nursing Home.

Born on July 29, 1937, in Terre Haute, Tom was the son of the late Robert Asbury and Wilma Asbury Witt. He lived a life defined by hard work, humility, service, and an unwavering devotion to his family.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a distinguished 34-year career with Pfizer Inc. His dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic earned the respect of his colleagues throughout his career. He retired in 1996 after 34 years of service.

Service to others remained a guiding principle throughout Tom's life. He was a longtime member of the Prairieton Volunteer Fire Department, where he served his community with dedication. Even after retirement, he continued to support the department by helping with fundraising activities. Tom was also a proud Freemason for more than 50 years, valuing the fellowship, principles, and lifelong friendships that came with his membership.

The greatest joy of Tom's life was his family. He shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Eula Hadar Asbury. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Eula; his sons, David Asbury and Brian Asbury, both of Irving, Texas; his brother, Joseph Asbury of Hymera, Indiana; his sister, Nancy Watson of Sun City, Arizona; his stepsister, Cheryl Sauer of Terre Haute, Indiana; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Tom will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, gentle spirit, and steadfast love for his family. He led by example, demonstrating the values of honesty, loyalty, perseverance, and compassion throughout his life. Whether serving his country, his community, his profession, or his family, Tom gave generously of himself and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the family he loved so deeply.

In keeping with Tom's wishes, no formal services will be held. Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, condolences, and acts of kindness during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse Mission, Inc. of Terre Haute or the Terre Haute Humane Society, organizations that reflect Tom's caring spirit and commitment to helping others.

Though deeply missed, Tom's memory will forever remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
