George Ernest Sparks, 91, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026. He was born on June 9, 1934, in Terre Haute to Ervin Sparks and Louise Cottrell Sparks. George was an auto mechanic for 30 plus years. He enjoyed watching motor sports and sports in general. George enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Nancy Sparks, their children Cindy Jones (Wally), Steven Sparks, Gary Sparks, and Sherry Norman, numerous grandchildren, and brother Gerald Sparks. George was preceded in death by his parents Ervin and Louise Sparks, daughter Kathy Meneely, brother Richard Sparks, and sisters Mary Louise Fox and Margaret Jones.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Service will begin at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Lowell Geisel officiating. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of the Wabash Valley for the love and care given to George. In lieu of flowers, donation in remembrance of George may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
