George H. Ketner, 84 of Farmersburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 6:25 PM in Springhill Village. He was born in Vigo County on November 2, 1932 to John S. Ketner and Mary D. Utterback Ketner. George was a Navy Veteran and member of Sullivan American Legion Post # 139 and enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty L. Rooney Ketner, a son, Kevin Ketner, two brothers, William Ketner and John Ketner, as well as three sisters: Marjorie Long, Helen Wyatt, and Martha Switzer. He is survived by one son, Randy Ketner (& wife Kim), a granddaughter, Kimberly Ann Hollingsworth, and three sisters-in-law: Wilma Newport, Norma Keller, and Elsie Rooney, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 4:00 PM, with Rev. Tim Keller officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen.
