Gary was employed at J. I. Case for 19 years and after its closing was at Bemis Company for 21 years. He served in the US Navy during the Viet Nam War and was a lifetime member of the VFW# 972. Gary had been an avid bowler at both Vigo Bowl and Imperial Lanes. He loved and adored his grandchildren, fishing, playing the lottery, and visiting casinos. His survivors are his loving wife, Marilyn (Schimmel) Bagley whom he married on July 27, 1975, his daughter Wendy Dewey of Georgia, sons Gary Bagley, Jr and his wife Amy, Bradley Dewey and his significant other Kim Hallett all of Terre Haute. His two sisters are Deanna Evinger and husband Tom of Brazil, IN and Ellen Dial of Grass Valley, CA; his two brothers are William Bagley and his wife Jeanne, and Irvin Bagley and his wife Kathy all of Terre Haute; his grandchildren Destiny Crum, Bobby Smith, Bradley Dewey, II, Brittney Dewey, Madison Bagley, Cohen Bagley, Ethan Bagley, and Zebe Dewey. His mother-in-law Rosemary Schimmel and his brothers-and sisters-in-law are Bill Shimmel and wife Debbie, Tony Schimmel, Julie Schimmel and husband Bob Humble. He also has several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill chapel on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Revs. Ray Austin and Joe Gormong officiating. Calling will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park. For those who choose contributions in his memory can be made to Riley Children's Hospital.
