Obituary

Freeman Eugene "Red" Miller, 92 of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 8:20 AM at Southwood Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Clay County on April 3, 1923 to Walter George Miller and Maude Bare Miller. He was a retired Security Supervisor from Pfizer. Red was preceded in death by his wife Edith "Loretta" Edmonson Miller on December 23, 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Sondra Louise Wilkison (husband Terry), and by two sons; Freeman Brian Miller (wife Jane), and Steven Allen Miller. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Dana Scully, Stacy Stuck, Terry Wilkison, Jr., Corisa Carlin, Freeman Kurt Miller, Heidi Hines, and Hans Dusty Miller, and several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Other survivors include a brother, Jerry Miller and a sister, Janet Bell. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Bob Miller, Jack Miller, and Lowell Miller, and a sister, Patricia Fry. His memberships include the Jasonville Baptist Church, and formerly attended Wilson General Baptist, and was a former board member of Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, IN. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer and avid Cubs fan, enjoyed golfing, hunting & fishing, and at one time held the state record for the largest bluegill in the state of Indiana, and had previously served as a Scout Leader. Graveside services will be held at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, IN on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Peavey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, in his memory. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Springhill Chapel.
