Obituary

Fred Kulich died March 29, 2020, from a stroke. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Georgiana Rajtora Luthi and Frederick Reynard Luthi on November 16, 1939. His mother later married Joseph Kulich who adopted Fred.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Rockwood Kulich, their son Frederick Joseph Kulich (Raquel), grandson John Kulich (Tania), granddaughter Rachel Kulich, his sister, Barbara Merwin-Kehl, and cousin Russell Major.  He was preceded in death by his son John.  Fred retired from the United States Marine Corps after over 22 years of service. He was particularly proud of being a crew member with the president's helicopters during the Kennedy and Johnson administrations. He served abroad, including in Viet Nam, and at several Marine Corps Air Stations. After retirement from the Marine Corps Fred accepted a position with Boeing Aircraft on their Apache helicopter project in Mesa, Arizona, where he worked until he retired.  While living in Arizona he enjoyed camping in the desert, rockhounding and panning for gold.  He and his wife spent several years living in their motorhome and traveling around the United States, finally settling in Terre Haute.
