A beautiful life came to a crossroads on the afternoon of Jan. 8, 2018, as Frances Elizabeth Porter went to be with the Lord at the age of 71 years old. She was born in Terre Haute, to Lucielle Virginia Korenski Pike and Curtis Bradley Pike Sr.
Fran spent her childhood in Terre Haute, attended St. Ann Catholic School, and went on to graduate from Paul Schulte High School in 1964. Her Catholic devotion resonated in every aspect of her life and she never knew a stranger. Her faith and kindness was an inspiration to anyone she met. Fran worked as a data processing manager, and accountant, and a newsroom assistant at WTHI News Station from April 16, 1984 to July 30, 2006. She loved her job and always made friends with whoever she encountered. Fran was preceded in death by Nancy Lindsey (sister); Eugene Karkalla (brother); Angelite Lindsey (niece); Christopher McGuire (nephew); and Curtis Bradley Pike III (nephew). She is survived by her twin brother, Curtis Bradley Pike II; her sister, Patricia Cottom; her sister-in-law, Pat Karkalla; her beloved friend and brother, Louis Fulton; her niece, Annalaura Pike; her nephew, John McGuire; her niece, Shelly McGuire; her great-niece, Lauren McGuire; her great-nephew, Cody McGuire; her great-nephew, Caleb Romanyk; and her great-niece, Jayde Helton. A heartfelt thank you goes to the wonderful, kind people at Maryvale Apartments at St. Mary-of-the-Woods, where she spent her last years. She dearly loved being able to spend the remainder of her time on earth surrounded by people who shared her faith. Visitation will be Sunday January 14, 2018 from 1:00 until 5:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services on Monday January 15, 2018 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home with Father Bernie LaMontagne officiating.
