Frances R. Farmer, 89, passed away Thursday October 1, 2015 at 11:30 pm in Union Hospital. She was born April 18, 1926, the daughter of Hillman and Mary (Allbright) Rigney. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter A. Farmer who passed away September 25, 2010.

She is survived by her sons, William Craig Farmer and wife Karen of Terre Haute, Indiana, Bertram Stuart Farmer of Jersey City, New Jersey and Dwight Allen Farmer and wife Carolyn of Flower Mound, Texas. A sister, Joanne and her husband Dr. Byron John of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and two sisters-in-law, Colleen Sordean of Clinton Township, Michigan, and Betty Farmer of Terre Haute, Indiana, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ruth Rigney, Laura Laughlin, Virginia Mattox, Marion Rigney, and Jane Ritter.

She was a 1944 graduate of Honey Creek High School and 1947 graduate of Union Hospital School of Nursing.

Friends and family to gather from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Prairieton United Methodist Church with a memorial service at 11:00 am in the church with Reverends Duane Caperton and Vince McFarland officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in New Harmony Cemetery. DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to either Prairieton United Methodist church or United Methodist Temple.
