Evelyn Maher, 88, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 31, 2018.

She was born February 25, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI to Charles and Lela Enochs.

In 1946 she married the love of her life, August Maher. They were married for 56 years before his passing in 2002.

They had two daughters, Linda Stanfield (Mike) of Greenwood, IN and Diana Gillin (Ron) of Terre Haute. Six grandchildren, Eric (Rhiannon) Stanfield of Zionsville, Crystal (Scott) Hastings of Clinton, Jason (Hannah) Gillin of Terre Haute, Maria Stanfield (Andy Long) of Indianapolis, Amber (Nick) Kerr of Center Point and Charlie (Amber) Stanfield of Indianapolis, and 13 great – grandchildren; sister Barbara Benskin (Harold) of Clinton and a brother Dean Barnhart (June) of Hunters Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers Murphy and Arthur Enochs.

Visitation for Evelyn will be held at DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel on Sunday, February 4th from 2-5 p.m., as well as Monday, February 5th from 12-1 p.m.   Services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Jerry Moorman will be officiating.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
