Esther Rost, 102 of Terre Haute, passed away at 9:11 PM on Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Sycamore Manor. She was born in Riley, In on May 1, 1912 to Vern Price and Anna Ruth Smith Price. Esther is survived by her son Harold "Bud" Rost & wife Carole, as well as her grandchildren Debbie Bahr & husband Chuck, Steve Rost & wife Kelly, Lorrie Myers & husband Scott, Suzie Latham, Kathy Moreau & husband Matt, Tammy Rost, David L. Bricker & wife Robin, and Michael W. Bricker & wife Betty. Also surviving are 19 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Rost on April 1, 1980, a son, Gerald W. Rost (as well as his wife Edna), two grandsons, Jerry Rost & Mike Rost, as well as three sisters; Ruth Palmer (her twin), Bethany Woodsmall, and Myrtle Gibbons. Esther was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, the Swinging Mates Square Dance Club, The Melody Squares (square dancing club), Riley Lions Club, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, loved animals, and loved to play bingo as well as travel. Funeral services will be held in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Aaron Wheaton & Pastor Bill Felts officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home and again on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. The family of Esther would like to take this opportunity to thank all her caregivers involved with her care the last few months.
