Ernestine Kemp Shew, 98, of Terre Haute passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at 2:58 p.m. in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born December 22, 1917 in Blackhawk to Daniel W. Kemp and Edna Vera Rehmel Kemp. Ernestine was a member of the Terre Haute Friends Church. She loved to sew and garden. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald M. Shew. She was also preceded by her siblings, Cedric Kemp, Carroll Kemp, Paul Kemp, Nellie Kluesner and Jennie Bozarth. She is survived by her two sons, Richard Shew and his wife, Linda of Naples, Florida and Ron Shew and his wife, Luella of Erlanger, Kentucky; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Debaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 East Springhill Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time. Reverend Fish will be officiating; burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
