Ernest Leslie Stewart, 81, passed away on January 13, 2026. He was born on July 29, 1944 in Terre Haute to Clifton and Ella Mae Stewart. Ernest worked at Stran-Steel and for the Vigo County School Corporation. He enjoyed working outside and going to his grandchildren's sporting event. He also loved sitting on his front porch talking with family and friends.

He is survived by his son Michael Stewart (Maya), brother Charles Stewart (Barbara), daughter-in-law Mary Ann Bagley (Jason), grandchildren Mara Reynolds (Isaac), Evan Stewart (Courtney), Nathaniel Stewart (Hannah), Ashton Stewart (Keylan Bryant), Emily Stewart, Preslie Stewart (Deshaun Lowe), and Bejamin Stewart; great-grandchildren Daeton Lowe and Charlotte Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by both his parents and son David Stewart.
