Ernest D. Reese, 93, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday May 27, 2015 at 10:53 am in Springhill Village. He was born April 23, 1922 in Jasonville, IN to Vivie Reese and Esther (McQuery) Reese. Ernest is survived by his daughters, Donna Landers and her husband Mallie of Terre Haute and Evelyn Baily of Jacksonville, FL; step-daughters, Gail Cleveland of Tomahawk, WI and Linda Kearn and her husband Alex of Strasburg, PA; step-son, Lester Luzon and his wife Sandy of Colorado; grandchildren, Sara Dufresne, Kevin Hauptli and his wife Laura and their children Kaleb and Taylor, and Lisa Sullivan and her husband Steve and their son Cooper and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Helen (Van Strydonk) Reese who died April 7, 2014. Ernest was a US Army veteran having served during WWII and reaching the rank of First Sergeant and he was a member of the American Legion. Graveside services are Friday May 29, 2015 at 1:30 pm at Highland Lawn Cemetery with military graveside honors. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery.
