Erma Drake Farr, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday February 9, 2022 in Terre Haute. She had worked at Citizens Telephone Company, Merchants Savings and Valley Federal, retiring in 1987. Erma was born September 17, 1926 in Fairbanks, Indiana to James H. and Mabel L (Ryan) Drake. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Perry; sons, James Farr (Kathy), John Farr (Lisa Pless), and Steve Farr (Carol); grandchildren, Jenna Edington (Tim), Kelcey Tonika (Frank), Benjamin Perry, and Erika Perry (fiancé Brenden); great-granddaughter, Eleanor Tonika and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund E. "Bud" Farr, who died February 23, 2008; sisters, Goldie Trueblood, Thelma Drake, Delores Drake, and Adah Coker and a brother, Earl M. Drake. Erma was a 1944 graduate of Fairbanks High School. She was a member of the Terre Haute First Baptist Church, a 75 year member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Pimento Chapter and was active until 2014. She was a former member of the Special Interest Car Club and the ACAC Car Club. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and traveling to Alaska through the Western States and Washington DC and several Eastern states with her husband. After retirement she spent 18 winters in Florida with her husband. Erma loved spending precious time with her four grandchildren and made each of them two quilts and also made some for her children. Visitation will be Thursday February 17, 2022 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with a Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:30 pm. Funeral Services will be Friday February 18, 2022 at 10:30 am in the funeral home with Reverend Steve Newman officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made to either Terre Haute First Baptist Church or Hospice of the Wabash Valley. Online condolences may be left at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
