Elsie Irene Certain Reese, 95, of Terre Haute passed away Friday September 23, 2016 in Westminster Village. She had worked at JCPenney for many years in Terre Haute and retired from JCPenney in Evansville. She was born July 24, 1921 in Terre Haute to James and Maude Cannady. Irene is survived by her sons, Gary W. Certain, who was her sole caregiver, of Terre Haute and Ronald J. Certain of Ft. Wayne; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George M. Certain, her second husband, George C. Reese and a daughter Nancy Jean Caudill and several siblings. She was a member of the Owls Club in Evansville and showed love and compassion to everyone she met. Graveside services will be Tuesday September 27, 2016 at 10:30 am in Bethesda Cemetery with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Burial will then be in Bethesda Cemetery. DeBaun Springhill Chapel is in charge of arrangements. If friends so desire, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Terre Haute Humane society
