(Ward) Tevault
April 30, 1942 – August 31, 2025
Elinor Jo Ward TeVault, age 83, of Terre Haute, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 31, 2025, at Union Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 30, 1942, in Valparaiso, IN, to Dallas Eugene Foster and Edna Mae Foster. She grew up on a farm and was the oldest of 9 children, Phillip Foster (Alice), James Foster (Carol), Marilyn Hart (Mike), Merry Evans (Marshall), Dallas Foster (Susan), Paul Foster (Donna), Kenneth Foster (Ruth), and Patricia Pointer (Alan).
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Edna Mae Foster, her sister Marilyn Hart, her brother-in-law Mike Hart, and her husband Kent TeVault.
Jo had two very dear daughters, whom she adored and whom adored her; Kelly Woodason (Tom) and Tracy Goff (Brad). Elinor's pride and joy were her children who made her grandmother to six grandchildren, Drew Woodason, Bryce Woodason (Amanda), Claire Howell (Caleb), Sydney Woodason, Elaine Smithson (Noah) and Jillian Goff. She was affectionately known to them as "G" and she had a unique and special bond with each of them. Jo was also great grandmother to Gracie Woodason, Elora Woodason and Greyson Smithson. She was a huge part of her family's daily lives offering advice, humor and spiritual guidance.
Jo received her diploma in nursing from the Union Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a pediatric nurse at Union Hospital before becoming the manager at the Central Indiana Regional Blood Center. Upon her retirement, she served as a teacher's assistant at Davis Park Elementary School.
Jo was a faithful and devoted member of the Eastside Church of Christ, and lived out her faith before many. She served as a volunteer nurse for over 40 years at the Wabash Valley Christian Youth Camp (aka Camp Wabashi), and was a mentor for Kid's Hope USA at DeVaney Elementary School.
Visitation will be held at the Eastside Church of Christ, 4025 College Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47803, on September 6, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm; and the funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, with Tom Woodason, Jim Foster and Bryce Woodason officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Eastside Church of Christ at the address above, or to Camp Wabashi, 3525 E. Harlan Dr., Terre Haute, IN 47802.
