Eleanor Norris, 83, of Terre Haute passed away on Friday December 26, 2014 surrounded by family in her daughter's home. She had worked at Woolworth's and at the Beef House. Eleanor was born October 5, 1931 in Sullivan, IN to Charles Thomas and Mary Elizabeth (Ready) Thomas. She is survived by daughters, Donna Strain and her husband William of Terre Haute, Debra Stecker-Lewis and her husband John of Terre Haute, and Rhonda Wolf and her husband John of Kingman, IN; a son, Darrell Norris and his wife Miryam of Woodbridge, VA; sisters, Ernestine Burton of Crown Point, IN, Brenda Clark of Coalmont, and Geraldine Kiger of Terre Haute; a brother, Bob Clark of Coalmont; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wright of Shelburn; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles A. Norris, who died September 7, 1995, sisters, Jean Wilkinson, Patricia Turley, Phyllis Clark, Elizabeth Clark, Lindel Smith, and Mary Clark; and brothers, Buck Thomas and Charles Thomas. Eleanor loved to bake for the Prairieton Fire Department She also loved to crochet and listening to country music. Visitation will be Wednesday December 31, 2014 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. with funeral services at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Reverend Allissa Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pogue Cemetery.
