Edith Simmons, 92 of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2:40 PM in her residence. She was born in Terre Haute on October 29, 1923 to Charles Steward and Lillie Lawrence Steward. Edith was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, brothers Harry, Harold, Gene, Weaver, and Frank, and sisters Norma, Edna, Ethel, Dorothy, Mae Olive, and Margie. She is survived by daughters Linda Simmons of Terre Haute, Connie Case (husband Darrell) of Farmersburg, and son Tony Simmons (wife Bridget) of Winston-Salem, NC. Also surviving are two grandsons, Josh (wife Krissy), and Jon (wife Erin), as well as two great grandsons, Carter and Brent, and a great granddaughter, Lilly, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1:30 PM, with Pastor Bob Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 11:30 AM -1:30 PM in the funeral home.
