Wodicka Smith
Dorothy Eileen Wodicka Marshall Smith, 88, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday July 30, 2013. She was born to Edward and Louise Wodicka in Terre Haute, on March 11, 1925. She graduated from Garfield High School in 1942 and from Terre Haute Business College the following year. During and right after World War II she worked in the office at Commercial Solvents. She returned to the work force later being Office Manager for Wabash Valley News Agency for 33 years retiring in 1987. She was a charter member of St. Mark United Church of Christ, where she was an active, faithful member until her illness three years ago. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Edward, Richard and her twin Carl, her first husband R. Jack Marshall who died in an automobile accident in 1961 and later by Richard Smith in 2002. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Diane and Rev. Stephen Moore, grandchildren Scott Moore and his wife Amanda and son Cade of Terre Haute, and Jill Moore Youngblood and her husband Brad and son Evan of rural Clay County and her special sister-in-law of Indianapolis, Barbara Wodicka who was her best friend while growing up and then remained close as her twin brother's wife. A stepson Ken and his wife Terri and their children Chelsey and Chris of McKinney, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 3,2013, at St. Mark United Church of Christ, 475 South Fruitridge Ave., at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Teresa Higus officiating. Visitation will be at DeBaun Funeral Home Wabash Ave Chapel, 2425 Wabash Ave, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday August 2, 2013 and from 9 until services at the church on Saturday. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Mark United Church of Christ, envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
