Obituary

Dorothy Elizabeth Witty, 94, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026. She was born August 2, 1932 to Henry and Clara Handick. Dorothy started working at Kresge when she was a young lady. Kresge eventually became K-Mart, where she retired from being their Bookkeeper.

Dorothy was a woman of deep faith whose religious beliefs were an important part of her life. She will be remembered for her strong faith, kind heart, and love for her family. Dorothy loved to cook and often got great deals while grocery shopping. She was also a talented seamstress. Dorothy baked cookies and loved to share them with others – her soul was every bit as sweet as her cookies.

Dorothy is preceded in death by both her parents; husband, John Lemen; son, Arlan Lemen; daughter, Marcia Lemen; sisters, Mary Perucca and her husband Joe, Helen Bridgewater and her husband Ed; grandsons, Brandon Wade and Alan Deakins; nephew, Mike Wright; and niece, Patty Bridgewater.

Dorothy is survived by sons, Donald Lemen and Larry Witty; daughters, Paula Church (Dennis), Susan Deakins (Jack) and Karen Kibbe; sisters, Clarabelle Wright and Joann Hoff; grandchildren, Leland Lemen, Bryan Wade, Nancy Applegate, Tim Kibbe, Deborah Hill, Paul Church, Joe Witty, and Chris Deakins; great-granddaughter, Ariella Wade and several other great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at DeBaun Funeral Home. Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. officiated by Pastor Tim Minks followed with burial at Hull Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dorothy’s name to The Life Center Church. Online condolences may be made at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
