Dorothy Mae Shanks (Miller), 84, of Terre Haute passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, after a long battle with cancer and dementia. She was born on February 12, 1941, in Marshall, Illinois to Roscoe and Blanche Clouse.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Bob, son Dennis, grandson Austin, and three brothers and one sister.

She worked at Quaker Maid, CBS, and owned the Honey Bucket Tavern for 20 years, where she made many lifelong friends. Her main passion in life was farming with her life partner, Randy, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her partner of 43 years, Randy Miller, son Tim (Charity), daughter Shelly (Matt), brother Jack (Judy), "just like daughters" Rhonda (Lee) and Sara (Phil), grandchildren Timothy (Rosemary), Sean, Tyler (Lily), Rachael (Merrick), Trevor (Bela), and Wyatt; and five great grandchildren

Visitation will be held, Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.  Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in remembrance of Dorothy may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice or the Terre Haute Humane Society.
