Dorothy A Milner, 92, of Riley, went to be with the Lord at 9:00 pm on Tuesday September 20, 2016 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born September 2, 1924 to John and Mary McLaughlin. Dorothy graduated from Riley High School in 1942 and was married to the love of her life, James Otto Milner, August 1, 1944. Dorothy was a homemaker in their home on a small farm in Vigo County. She followed her love of music and became the pianist/organist for Riley UMC until earlier this year. Her love for quilting was evidenced by the beautiful quilts that filled her home and the ones that were made with love for each grandchild and great-grandchild. Survivors include her children, Steven Milner, Joe (Betsy) Milner, Mark (Kim) Milner, Bruce (Rhonda) Milner, and Kathy (Dan) Wright; grandchildren, Alan (Bridget) Milner, Adam (Angie) Milner, Wayne (Gretchen) Wright, Kristin (DJ) Snow, Erin (Brian) Vitz, Morgan Milner, Matthew Milner, and David Milner; 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Harvey (Barbara) Milner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, her parents and her sister, Katy Underhill. Visitation will be held Saturday September 24, 2016 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Lee officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
