Dorothy Mae
(Fuson) Cox
January 23, 1930 – October 27, 2022
Dorothy Mae (Fuson) Cox, 92, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022. She was born in Wayne County, Indiana on January 23, 1930 to Reverend Cecil Fuson and Susa (North) Fuson. Dorothy married Charles Q. Cox on January 9, 1953. They were married 41 years before Charles' passing.
In her younger years Dorothy was an avid bowler and enjoyed archery. Dorothy was very active in the Eastern Star Chapter #188 for many years. She worked for Columbia House, AP&S Clinic, and Springhill Village over her lifetime. Her most favorite job was being a Foster Grandparent at Dixie Bee Elementary. She loved being "grandma" to all of the children there. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even her foster grandchildren were her greatest joy and biggest accomplishment. The holidays will not be the same without her beautiful smile and her famous corn casserole. She will be sadly missed by so many.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Michael Cox (Cindy), Phillip Cox, and Charles R. Cox (Jamie), grandchildren Jordan Witt, Star Cox, Michael Shawn Cox, Rebecca Rosa, Cassandra Gareis (Adam), and Megan Rajski (Nick), and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Q. Cox, and her brothers, Harold Fuson and Eugene Fuson.
