Doris Elizabeth Pickens

Doris Elizabeth Pickens, 92 of Terre Haute passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Cobblestone Nursing Facility. She was born on October 29, 1924 in Terre Haute to Hobart Hicks and Reggie Roberts. She was a graduate of Pimento High School.  She married Earl Wayne Pickens, February 22, 1946. She retired from Pfizer's.

Survivors include: a daughter Diana Wenzel, Farmersburg; a son Terry Pickens (Cynthia), Hawaii; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Pickens, Terre Haute. Six grandchildren: Darin Godfrey (Christie); Todd Pickens; Christine Pyatt (Rob); Chris Clark (Michele); Autumn Pickens (Whitney Reynolds); Terry Pickens (Jessica); Eight great grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Godfrey; Trevor Godfrey (Tori); Jordan Pickens (Amanda); Rory and Asher Pyatt; Finnley Reynolds; Samuel and Gracie Pickens; Two great- great grandchildren: Olyvia Godfrey;  Serena Pickens;  A sister, Ruth Ann Puckett; a brother, Jim Hicks (Lee), sister-in-law; Dee Hicks; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wayne Pickens; a son, Larry Wayne Pickens, a grandson, Cary Pickens, two brothers Jack & Earl Dallas Hicks.

At her requests there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, October 11th at Roselawn Mausoleum. Doris was a life time member of Oregon Baptist Church. The family suggests that if so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Oregon Baptist Church, 11200 S Carlisle St., Terre Haute, IN 47802.
