Doris Jean (Maurer) Knight, 96, passed away May 25, 2024. She was born February 26, 1928 in Prairieton to Fred Maurer and Daisy (Hayworth) Maurer.

She is survived by her sons Robert Knight (Kim) of Clarksville, TN, Darrel Knight (Nancy) of Terre Haute, Fred Knight of Florida, and Randy Knight of Terre Haute; daughters Katherine Kinney and Barbara Edwards of Terre Haute; nine grandsons, and several great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Harry R. Knight.

She had a long life full of love and family. She was a member of Prairieton United Methodist church, Prairieton Fire Auxiliary, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10 am at the funeral home with burial following at New Harmony Cemetery.
