Donald G. Lyday, 80 of Farmersburg passed away Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 4:45 am in Springhill Village. He was retired from Stran-Steel and later from Hulman and Company. He was born March 17, 1934 in Sullivan County, IN to George Washington Lyday and Myrtle (Price) Lyday. Donald is survived by sons, Donald M. Lyday and his wife Kathy and Steven G. Lyday and his wife Traci; daughters, Connie Haase and Terri Cox and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Steve, Natasha, Matt, Nate, Zach, Evan, Mike, Mark, Matt, Jennifer, and Megan, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Ann (Banta) Lyday who died March 24, 1991, grandson, Jordan, and brothers, George, Chuck, Jack, Dale, Joe, and Wayne. Donald was a devoted Amateur Boxing coach at Ryves Hall for 16 years. He was a member and Past Master at Masonic Lodge #369 F. & A.M. in Shelburn, and he was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. Visitation will be Saturday April 19, 2014 from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm in DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr. Funeral services will begin with a Masonic Memorial Service at 2:30 pm conducted by Masonic Lodge #369 F. & A.M. with funeral services to follow officiated by Reverend Norm Santus. Burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan.
