Donald Edward Hoke, 82, of Terre Haute went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2013 at 1:13 p.m. He was born on August 1, 1931 to Vern and Sylvia (Kyle) Hoke. Donald served in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Joseph University Parish. He also held membership with the VFW #972. Donald worked at Alcan. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Donald is survived by his wife of 44 years Shirley (Gunder) Hoke; daughters Christy Higgins, her husband Fred, Kim Lawrence, her husband Jim, and Kelly Hoke; grandchildren Nikole Higgins, Emilly Higgins, Skyler Lawrence, and Ashlee Grant; brothers Charles Hoke, his wife Marilyn, Tom Hoke, and his wife Judy; sister Marjorie Neice; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Jerod Lawrence; 4 brothers; and one sister. Donald requested that there be no services. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall, IL. The family has entrusted DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive, with making arrangements. Donations can be made to St. Anne's Clinic or Catholic Charities, in lieu of flowers.
