Donald Robert Hayes, 65, of Terre Haute passed away on May 24, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. in Roudobush VA Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1948 to Donald Hayes and Patricia Ann (Tomes) Hayes. He graduated from Wiley High School in 1967. Donald served in the United States Navy. He was a member of VFW and Riley American Legion. Donald liked fishing, carpentry, kids, animals and corn hole. He was a people person, who took joy in helping others. He retired from Monarch Beverage as a Draft Technician. Donald is survived by his wife of 26 years Dee Ann (Bolinger) Hayes; daughters Lauren Hayes, and her fiancé Keith Beckerle of Evansville, Indiana, Bethany Smith and her husband Mark of Fayetteville, Georgia, Angie Tyler, and her husband Emmit of Louisville, Kentucky; son Dylan Prince of Terre Haute; 2 grandchildren Desmond Smith and Marcus Tyler; siblings Sharon Horrall, her husband Ernie, Larry Joe Hayes "Joe-Joe", his girlfriend Evelyn "Ebby" Helton, Sandy Hayes – Mack, and her husband Steve; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog Toby. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday May 29, 2013 in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday on May 28, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The ALS Association.
