Dollie D. James, 94, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.  She was born June 16, 1929, in Trimble, Illinois to Joseph Creed and Sophia Lathrop Creed.  Dollie retired from Trunk Operation Engineering of Ameritech.  She was a Baptist.  Dollie enjoyed bowling, swimming, knitting, sewing, and genealogy.  In 1986 she moved to Ocala, Florida where she spent many years.

Survivors include daughters Marilyn Higgins of Terre Haute and Carolyn Clark of Romeoville, Illinois, , eight grandchildren and three step grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dollie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert E. James, great grandson Preston Roukes, stepson Mark James, son-in-law Frank Higgins, brother Charles Creed, and sisters Myrna Brenton and Erma Kirk.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.  Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Branham officiating.  The family would like to extend a thank you to Southern Care Hospice and the staff of Cobblestone Crossing for the care given to Dollie.
