Diana Kesler, 71, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at her home in Riley.  Diana and her husband of almost forty-six years, John A. Kesler II, moved to south-eastern Vigo County in their golden years to be near their daughter and grandchildren.  Diana lived almost all of her life in the West Terre Haute area - having grown up on Ferguson Hill and lived as an adult about a half-mile from West Vigo High School.

Diana was born on May 6, 1955 to Billy J. Brackall and Thelma (Froschauer) Brackall.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lewis "Louie" Brackall, and sister-in-law, Nicki Herrington.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children and their spouses, and four grandchildren: John "Trey" Kesler III (Robbi) of Olympia, Washington (Jack and Clara); Ashley Luken (Greg) of Riley (Ellie and Trip); and Madison Kesler.  Diana is also survived by her brother-in-law, Brad Kesler, sisters-in-law, Debra Kesler and Linda Brackall, many special nieces and nephews, cousins, and good friends.  Her life was devoted to her family and friends.

Diana's father served in World War II and received a Purple Heart.  He worked at Stran-Steel for over thirty years.  Thelma, who stayed home to raise Louie and Diana, was artistic and had a ceramics shop in their house.  Louie went on to teach art at West Vigo High School for many years.  Diana had a passion for photography.  There was a creative gene in their family.

Diana graduated from West Vigo High School in 1973 and spent time traveling, taking photographs, and working.  She had an adventurous side and loved music.  She lived briefly in Las Vegas.  She photographed an Elvis Presley concert; Elvis gave Diana one of his scarfs.  She was a Beatles fan with a small collection of records and other memorabilia.  A fond memory was when she got to watch a Paul McCartney concert from the front row.

Diana was especially dedicated to her immediate family.  She supported her husband in all his endeavors and was involved in her children's activities.  She was never more proud than when her family succeeded, but it was apparent her love was unconditional.  Her devotion, strength of belief in the potential of those she loved, and kindness stood out throughout her life.  Diana's spirit will endure through those whose lives she touched.

Diana had Parkinson's Disease and agreed many years ago to donate her brain to science at the request of her doctors.  She loved the movie Young Frankenstein and laughed at the thought of her "Abby Normal" brain being studied.  During and after her life she was selfless and giving.  She will be greatly missed.

Diana elected to be cremated.  A Celebration of Life will be heled at a date and location to be determined.
