David Lewis Moreland passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023, surrounded by family and friends in Hospice care at Union Hospital.  He was born on August 17, 1972, to Robert Moreland and Joanna (Wiram) Moreland.

Dave was a Locomotive Engineer at CSX Railroad for 19 years. He recently purchased a beautiful 1972 Mach 1 Mustang and was enjoying going to car shows.  Going for cruises in his car was one thing that helped to quiet his mind while he was enduring his battle. He loved his family and friends and always wanted to be surrounded by them. He was always ready for a party. His personality and humor were larger than life.  Dave was serious about providing and caring for his family but was never late with a joke. He could find humor in almost any situation.  Dave will be greatly missed by all who loved him and fondly remembered with a smile.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jennifer Pitts Moreland, his parents Robert and Joanna Moreland; children Coby Moreland, Whitney Padgett (Drew Pine), and Holly Moreland; grandchildren Airianna, Ethan, and Elaina; bonus children Christopher, Tyler, Logan and Khloe; siblings Cheryl Owens (Brian), Dan Moreland (Theresa), Lora Moreland (Mark McKinzie), and well as several beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and friends.  He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Lewis "Red" Moreland and Mary Moreland and maternal grandparents Frank Wiram and Ruth Wiram.

Per Dave's wishes there will be no funeral.  A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Cremation was entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
