David Lee Higginbotham, 72, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at Union Hospital Regional in Terre Haute at 1:09 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026.  He was born to Ruby E. (Davidson) Higginbotham on November 11, 1953 in Terre Haute.  She preceded him in death on March 30, 2008.  David married the love of his life, Mary J. (Burskey) Higginbotham on September 12, 2022.

David served his county proudly in the Navy and the Army Reserves.  He enjoyed going for rides to Bridgeton to savor the country atmosphere and festivities with his wife.  David enjoyed attending the Corey Apple Festival to buy military flags to display in his front yard, where he enjoyed spending his mornings after his outside chores were done.  He also appreciated collecting items he was fond of, going for walks with Mary at the parks, and reminiscing about days gone by.

David is survived by his loving wife and two uncles, Russell Higginbotham and Ron Higginbotham.

David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo B. and Nancy (Bunch) Higginbotham; three aunts, Mary Batson, Joanne Callahan, and Anna Heaton; and three uncles, Avery Higginbotham, Bill Higginbotham, and Leo B. Higginbotham.
