Darlene M. Lutz, 56, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by her beloved family.  She was born November 23, 1966, in Terre Haute to Larry Scank and Ruth Marrow Scank.  Darlene was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph University Parish and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.  She and Richard loved to travel, especially to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Darlene enjoyed trying new foods and was never afraid to try unusual or exotic dishes.  In her younger years she raced quarter midget cars.  She took great pride in her home and her yard.  Darlene was blessed with a green thumb.  Most of all she loved time with her family.  Her children and grandchildren brought her so much joy.

Darlene is survived by her mother, Ruth Scank, her husband of 24 years, Richard Lutz, daughter Brittany Basore (Kenny), sons James Crowley (Tracy) and Caleb Lutz, grandchildren Zelda, Opal, James, Kayleigh, Ashlynn, Maridiann, and Kyndell; and greatgrandchildren Paislynn, Emersyn, and one on the way; siblings Lee Scank, Gina Dickens (David), Kristina Blackburn (Tony), and A.J. Scank, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Sacred Heart on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 1 pm with a memorial mass following the visitation starting at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Darlene may be made to Happiness Bag. Online condolences may be made to www.debaunfuneralhomes.com.
