Darlene Kay Knopp, 74, of Terre Haute passed away Saturday September 26, 2026 at The Waters of Greencastle. Darlene worked at Sears from 1984 until her retirement in 2017, where she worked in many departments there and could be seen just about anywhere in the store. She was born October 18, 1951 in Terre Haute to Leonard T. and Nelly E. (Griffin) Matherly. Darlene is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Okeli (John); son, Homer Knopp (Hollie); brother, Leonard Matherly (Vicki); grandchildren, Nicholas Okeli (Sindy), Zachary Okeli, Sarah Bays (Joe), Matthew Okeli, Chase Harkrider (Emily), and Collin Knopp (Jenna); great-grandchildren, Ethan Okeli, Jayden Okeli, Ashley Okeli, Eyleen Okeli, Brianna Bays, and Savannah Bays; great great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Savannah and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald James Knopp, who died January 5, 2024; her parents and brothers, Rick Matherly, Ronnie Matherly, and Gary Matherly. Darlene was a graduate of Wiley High School and she enjoyed spending time with her family and most importantly her grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday October 5, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in DeBaun Springhill Chapel with funeral services starting at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor mark Grayless officiating.
