Crystal Karen West Waggoner Flora, 64, of Terre Haute passed away at 9:35 PM on Monday, October 13, 2014 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Danville, IL on March 27, 1950 to Ivory "Ike" Paul West and Lola Barnes West. She was a Social Worker for VNA Hospice. Crystal is survived by her husband Gary Flora, and four children; Nathan Waggoner, Matt Waggoner, Kimberly Baker (Bob), and Beth Hill (Kenneth). Also surviving are three sisters; Marvene Blackmore, Elaine "Boots" Scott, and Evelyn Kesler, as well as nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by two very special friends, Jodi Pomfret and Robin Heng and many other close friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as a sister, Francis Pritchard. Crystal was a member of Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church, she was a devoted Christian and a part of the Emmaus Community, having participated on Walk # 121, she was a graduate of the University of Illinois—where she obtained her degree in Social Work. Her life was caring for others and she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 3050 E. Davis Dr., Terre Haute, on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Aaron Wheaton & Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Cemetery in Champaign, IL. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 9:00 -11:00 AM in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of DeBaun Springhill Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice VNA of the Wabash Valley, in her memory.
