Charlotte Marie
(Chastain) Miller
June 3, 1949 – October 22, 2025
Charlotte Marie Chastain Miller, 76, lovingly known as Char, Sherry, Char-Char, Grandma, Mamaw, Gra-Gra, and Mae-Mae, went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2025. She was a resident of The Honey Creek Commons for the past four years and previously lived for five years at St. Anthony Square, both in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Char was born on June 3, 1949, in Brazil, Indiana, to Charles "Joe" and Rozella Chastain. She cherished her childhood with her brother, Billie Chastain, and went on to attend Ivy Tech Community College after high school, where she trained as a legal secretary. In 1971, she married Roger Miller (deceased).
Char worked for many years with Ellis Law in Terre Haute before completing her career at the Vigo County Prosecutor's Office. She found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life — tending to flowers, crafting, reading, and spending precious time with her family. A woman of faith and music, Char was a member of New Rivers Church in Marshall, Illinois, and a past member of the Terre Haute Chorale of Singers.
She is survived by her three children: Christa Foust (Gary) of Terre Haute, Scott Miller (Lynn) of Coatesville, and Kevin Miller of Bowling Green. Char deeply loved her grandchildren: Gabriel, Caleb, Isaac (deceased), Hershel, Caden, and Rayne Foust, and Ashley and Carly Miller. She is also survived by her brother, Billy Chastain of Brownsburg; and her beloved grandpups—Holly, Rosie, Chico, and Gus—who will miss her ear scratches and treats dearly.
Visitation will be held at DeBaun Funeral Home, Springhill Drive, on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Oakhill Cemetery in Riley, Indiana. Pastor Timothy Foster will officiate the services.
Charitable donations may be made in Char's memory to The Honey Creek Commons of Terre Haute or Hospice of the Wabash Valley.
Char will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family.
