Weil
Charles Joseph Weil, 91, of Terre Haute passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 in Regional Hospital. He was born on December 26, 1922 to Clemens and Alta (Bartlett) Weil. Charles married Dorothy Packard on October 16, 1948. He was a WW II and Korean War veteran and retired after serving 20 years with the US Navy. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He is survived by two sisters, Virginia Allen of Terre Haute and Joan Dowell of Ft. Myers, FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brothers Rudolph Weil, Loren Weil, Harry Weil, Raymond Weil; and two sisters, Mary Thompson and Lucille Daffer. Charles enjoyed watching all types of sports and loved to party with friends and family. He was known to everyone as 'Uncle Joe'. He was a membe of the Northern Masonic Lodge, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a member of the VFW. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday October 30, 2014 in the chapel at Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery with his nephew Andy Weil officiating. There will also be military rites conducted by the Honor Guard detail from Shelburn, Hymera, and Sullivan American Legion Posts. Online condolences may be offered at www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
